According to my money saving goal of this year, though I have stopped spending money on weekends, I still can enjoy these short breaks to relax and allow me to do whatever I love to, listening to music, walking , going to class ,taking a long nap in the afternoon and what not. My weekend afternoon naps are usually two hours long versus 30-minute ones during the week. …

This evening, I chatted with my parents and other friends over the cell-phone. To be honest, I wished I could have some of homemade dumplings made by my father. I understand that this will not happen for a long time until next Spring Festival.

In the recent days, I have been busily engaged to deal with incoming material problems and at the same time I was required to develop passing standards of new materials. It was a hard struggle, but thank God, I finally finished the work. With management’s approval of this document, I held a meeting this evening to train QC girls to ensure that they will pay special attention to all new incoming materials from now on.

March is our peak production season; everyone has a lot of work to do, and my workload has been doubled. Likewise, we all are much stressed out, both mentally and physically. Seeking relief, last night I was told me by my yoga teacher that practicing meditation might help. In order to achieve good attitude and good spirit during the day, from tonight, I will spend the minutes every night to practice meditation before going to bed. She also told me that if I can sustain this exercise as a habit, I will be a happy person.

Today was another busy day for me, tons of work that drove me crazy. Luckily, I had my yoga lesson tonight, which eventually helped me relax afterward.

This morning, I presented my QA Weekly report during the production daily meeting, I used this opportunity to inform my management regarding quality problem associated with the XX series product that we experienced last week, and I consequently advised engineer of XX department to pay specially attention to the zz procedure in the coming weeks. Arguably, engineer cc again blamed that my QC girls’ inspection speed to be too slow to catch the defective products being produced. This accusation made me angry. Gladly, all managers attending this meeting disagreed with what he said. It is clear to all of us that we are facing the peak production season; and the quality of all our products need to be ensured.

In the afternoon, a training supervisor of HR department asked me submitting annual training plan issue. She recommended me to attend SPC lesson, but I am not willing to register for this course; I prefer to learn something else instead. Based on your experience, my dear 6SQ friends, what are the best valued courses in quality management that I should take as a quality supervisor? The charge is less than RMB3, 000.

When I heard that Malaysia Airlines flight carrying 239 people from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing lost contact with traffic controllers, I felt very sad. Today, according to the news, more than two hundreds travelers from 13 nationalities were onboard. Hope miracle can happen. Let’s pray for them.

I was further saddened when I saw the video that families and friends of those missing on the flight were waiting in a hotel for latest information concerning them. Looking at their helpless eyes, my heart was broken. One woman wailed for her missing son as she was led inside. "My son was only 40 years old," she cried. "My son, My son. What am I going to do?"

Until now, nobody knows exactly what happened to this Malaysia Airlines’ plane that disappeared. Friends, let us pray for these 239 people, wishing them live in peace in a different world.

It will be a month long from I get start using English to keep a diary. According to the plan I made last month, it is time to practice English listening.
My dear friend Ting told me that it is much helpful for me in English to watch the TV play called “Friends”. Although I prefer to learn business English that is related to my job,it can be had a try for some times. The most difficult to improve our English, I think it is to insist to make time for learning English after work every day. To be honest, I have failed to do so because of the time I spend on TV and games every night.
The more you care, the more you get. In order to improve my English ability, I will take my plan more serious than before and insist it out. The time flies, I must have to make progress in English, I really don’t want to stay where I am now and waste my spare time on playing.

Today I was really busy and couldn't leave my office until six o’clock.

In the morning, I attended a follow-up meeting to discuss issues regarding the quality of a XX new material delivered. About this new material, following successful test runs, it was accepted for future production. After the meeting, I started to update IQC control plan. The new procedure requires QA to pay special attentions to new material for at least three months.

About yesterday’s labeling problems from Japan supplier, near the end of the day I received a phone call from them again; they indicating that they needed more information about problem and in the meantime promised me to correct the problem tonight.

Today, the CEO of our parent Company arrived to visit Huizhou’s production line in this afternoon; Last Thursday, all departments were asked to get ready for his coming. In the morning, in order to ensure that everything step was running smoothly, I made the rounds of our production lines immediately after the production daily meeting. The area was clean and tidy. Clearly, we have done 5S well.

In our clean rooms (production area), production and protection of electronic chips mandates a super clean environment. Anyone entering the clean room facility must put on a hood and a face veil and wear ESD shoes. The face veil must be large enough to cover the entire mouth. To ensure that these rules are strictly followed, everyday, one of our engineers is assigned as the security guard to closely monitor people’s in and out of each lean room. This engineer is responsible to report all violations during the daily production meeting. Though our management is more human in treating our employees, violators of clean room’s rules will be severely punished by their supervisors.

Preparing a weekly report for the Tuesday’s meeting was my today's work, though all product’s yield are higher than their production goals, to prevent previous problems associated with the XX product from happening again, I have instructed QC girls to pay special attention during sampling of the XX Product.

Theme: Three ideas to improve efficiency of learning

Starting today, if we want to make our learning process more effective, setting up a timetable and stick to it is the best policy. If you end up watching TV or playing the games then you should change.

Secondly, in the spare time, we need to find a quiet place to study. We all know how hard it is to study in an area full of noise and distractions, not to mention effectiveness.

Avoid interruptions. During studying, when a friend calls and asks us out to lunch or for movies, we should say no. Besides, if you stay home to study, don’t forget to lock the door. For example, if your hear neighbors knock on your door, don’t answer it; otherwise, you can’t concentrate on studies.

To find time to study, we must plan well. The past three ideas can help us improve our learning efficiency.

Yesterday, my colleague had an argument with my director about how to deal with the conflict in our work. We don’t know what happened to my colleague ( call him A) in detail, perhaps my director didn’t hope that A lose our respect for telling us about that. However, in yesterday meeting, A didn’t control himself and told his conflict with R&D personnel to us.
In QA department, we have much pressure coming from our customer complains, we need to do experiments to make the product problems recur and ask the R&D personnel to analyze this problems. After that, providing the corrective measures to customers and explaining it face to face or using our email are the most important.
In the steps above, the more pressure, the more easily we come into conflict.
My director said it is no need to know who is really right or wrong, just put the project first. But A disagreed with him and believed that it will happen in other colleagues if we don’t take it seriously. What is important, he make a list of thoughts he had before and ask we some questions, for example, “ are you making sure that you can reach your goals in this way?”, which have made other colleagues thinks a lot.
Maybe he is right, but I don’t think much about what he ask as other colleagues because I know what I really desire and where I want to be. He is the person who has many ideas, but he needs some time for personal reflection and making adjustments.

Today is the last day of work in February; though everything ran smoothly at work, much time could be saved if better managed. I must be more careful when doing my planning.

In this month, we had less than usual memory Chips to produce due to America’s bad weather, which resulted in delayed delivery of necessary electronic parts. But starting March 3, everything will go back to normal. And all departments need to be prepared for the coming peak production season,

For my department, one of my QC girls A resigned last week. Her replacement B was scheduled to be trained starting this week. However, unfortunately, the other girl C just requested a personal leave to return home for two weeks beginning March 3 due to personal reasons. Though it’s OK for me to rearrange work for March, I need to have my department fully staff during the busiest season.

Based on our company’s training SOP, all new staff of Production department must be trained for at least two months. During the training period, new operators are not allowed to operate their machines alone without being closely monitored by their Training Technicians. After the training, they become qualified operators. My department is no exception, all QC girls are required to be trained by ME department Training Technicians. They will not receive certification until their work is 100% verified.

Theme: The aim of learning English

English, now a global language, has become more and more important in international communication. Especially in the modern day society, regardless of the type of business you are in, if you have a good level of English skills, you will have better opportunity to gain more information from your foreign friends and colleagues. Good English pushes your career forward, indeed.

For me, I work as a quality supervisor in the XX Company; where, ability in English is very important. In the recent years, I have taken a number of English classes at XX institute, these courses include BEC preliminary, BEC vantage and so on; nevertheless, some of them were way over my head. In the current company, I really cherish this job. If I can do better in reading, writing and speaking English, I would have the opportunity to earn more money. So far, sadly to say, though I have been studying English for three years, I don’t think I have made much progress in either English or my career.

About learning English, I once got so discouraged and almost gave up, because it was too hard to learn. However, when I thought about my older parents and I am the only child in the family, I decided to continue working hard so as to give them a better life in the future. Thus, I determined not to quit learning English as long as I work for the XX Company.

In order to improve my English, I have followed my teacher’s advice to write diaries starting this year. Though every day it takes me more than 90 minutes to finish my writing using sample sentences shown in Youdao dictionary, I endure. I believe my teachers told me the old sayings that, “We take on this challenge, not because it’s easy, but because it’s hard”, “Constant dripping wears away a stone”.

After a whole day’s work, we often feel very exhausted. For some people, when work stress rises, they lose their temper. In this age of intense competition, we all face different challenges in our work and various problems in life; in that way, to improve our quality of life, how should we balance our work and free time?

In my opinion, three things are of great importance to keep our work-life balanced.

First, having good work arrangement is important. At work, we should handle all affairs according to its priority. As a result, if we can manage our work well, we will have more time left to handle personal matters.

Secondly, engaging friends each week to have fun and relax will make sure we are not weighed down by overwork. If we have enough time to communicate with our friends, we will achieve a better balance between work and life.

Finally, I highly recommend everyone to workout daily. Sports are good for our health. We must have a healthy body, if we want to achieve our dreams.

To sum up, the aforementioned three suggestions have helped me keep a better balance between work and life.

After lunch, I went to Huizhou to attend the new school year ceremony. Approximately five hundred people were there to attend this activity. However, they gave us notice that we had to arrive at the school before 1:30 PM, but the meeting was delayed for two hours due to the traffic jam. As the chairperson, there wasn't any good programs arranged, we felt very bored within two hours, and the atmosphere looked a bit awkward.

A number of speeches were given by invited leaders; the central theme of this ceremony was to tell us never giving up learning. Life is a living and learns the process; everyone should have his or her goals and must work hard for this plan to read what we need, day after day, and constant dripping wears away a stone

Above all, that’s the message they wanted to send out to every student and is the theme of this event.

The activity gone over, I went shopping alone until nine o’clock at night; comparatively, I prefer going into store to appreciate beautiful clothes in my spare time. I reminded myself over and over under my breath that I couldn't buy them due to my plan of saving money. But it’s a pity that my favorite brand of cloths was running a promotion activity …

It was sunny today for the whole day, weather finally turned into a nice day. Cinderella’s mood is getting much better, even I was very tired, and I managed to keep my chin up.

After breakfast, I went to work earlier than usual; the first thing to do still was to check QA dairy report from the night shift’s data. As indicated in the XX Yield trend chart, XX product’s Yield was higher more than its current target of 98.5 percent and approaching the goal of 100 percent.

Recently, in order to decrease the number of complaints from customer, our QA has been working closely with ME engineers to improve the XX process so as to enhance the quality of these XX series products. This joined team effort has resulted in significant improvement in the yield of XX product.

Today, selected from several applicants, I hired a new QC girl whose background and experience fit our needs. From next week, OJT Trainer will be responsible for training her according to the SOP. In the first week, I will do the best to make her feel as comfortable as at home.

It is a quiet and simple day, there is nothing made me fell upset, I just need to check some emails, make notes and learn something I like. In my free time, I always like to have a cup of coffee and read newspaper, which makes me feel peaceful.
For my job, when the goods will sent out of our company, I work as gate keeper to know the level of product quality. If the products sent to customer have some errors and OQA check them out, we will ask project manager, to arrange meeting for analyzing the problem before batch production is conducted.
We need to make full use of our time when we are free.

These days, I have lost a lot of sleep, perhaps because I am often stressed out after a day’s work. Weather is also wet and bitter cold. Besides, high humidity has made me uncomfortable.

Today is Wednesday. Like any other day of the week, I had another busy day of work. Since one of my QC girls has resigned, I need to recruit a replacement as quickly as possible. Though there have been several applicants, so far I haven’t found the one whose qualification fits our needs. During the interviews, a few were dismissed immediately because of their fickle attitude. I understand that not many applicants would like to do eye-straining inspection work under microscopes.

About hiring staff, in the recent years, it was difficult to recruit new staff, despite many companies offer five one insurance fund and other benefits. Comparison with surrounding companies, we could control the lower turnover rate last year. One good reason could be that our management is more humane than others. Especially to the new comers, for example, we have established an SOP to pay special attention to our new hires’ well-being, from the day of their orientation throughout their lives with the company. The only disadvantage is that the factory was built in the suburb, and the traffic is not convenient.

After work, jogging in the gym is my routine workout. Inside the gym, I often meet several foreigners, but I just have a nodding acquaintance with them. From time to time, I want to greet them and chat more in English, however, sadly, my poor English has failed me to open my mouth.

Today, I received QC girls’ salary slip for last month, when our office clerks found out that operators received much higher pay than they did, it drove them crazy. I think they should be told that in January, there were two days national holidays to be arranged overtime. Since line operators were required to work during the Spring Festival, they were justifiably compensated with overtime pay. Our office clerk colleagues should not be green with envy.

In the afternoon, XX customer given us feedback due to XX issue, the mail reason is to transfer and ship process. In the recent two months, our QA has carefully been following these processes and pushed the quality improvement, which included monitoring the performance of their warehouse shipping attendants. Thankfully, our work has resulted in substantial payoffs; I desire to keep our product’s quality above and beyond what our U.S counterpart can accomplish. If not, we will be directed by general manager to pay special attention.

I was very busy at work. Almost work of every Monday so.In the morning, IQC reported that there had been labeling problems associated with the incoming material of XX product. This was not the first time that this supplier did not clearly label their products. I had emailed them several times and requested for improvement, up to date, they have not completely corrected this problem, and we are still experiencing this poorly-labeled issue. To improve, I could not but created an 8D report to formally document and ask this supplier to comply with contractual agreement to clearly label items delivered to my company. In the meantime I have instructed my IQC girls to strengthen sampling inspection for this vender in the coming weeks.

One of my QC girls formally handed in her resignation. This was expected, because she told me her ideas early. She was married last year, and she and her husband have worked in this company for two years, and they expected to have a baby in a few months. Thereafter, her husband wouldn’t want her to continue working despite generous company benefits that offer paid maternity leave for husband and wife, daily breastfeeding hours, and so on. I totally understand her situation, because she is a very good employee and team player, I hope she can stay at least until her baby is born. In the afternoon, I had a long time with her and went over all company benefits. Regardless whether she chooses to leave or stay, I will give her my best wishes, after all, she still needs to use microscope to inspect products when she is pregnant, she will be tired. 收起阅读 »

This morning, I received a notice from the XX institution, and they wanted me to get ready for the next term to attend the new school year ceremony on February 23. From next month, for my Top-level academic education, maybe I don’t have much time every week. How I hope I could buckle down to finish them within three years. If Cinderella always keeps her chin up and believe that will be the day her dreams will come true.

Tonight I cooked a dish at one of my friends’ home, when I stepped into my dormitory and it was nine o’clock in the evening. I like to cook but don’t think I am good cook. Regardless, when I am at home, my parents like to have me cook for them.

On weekends, I hope I am able to make some cheap and health food, set aside some time each day to just relax, but according to company’s rule, it never allow anyone to cook food in the dormitory. By the way, in the past ten years, I have never cooked anything in my dormitory. In additional, I love to play with cats and dogs. if I have a kid, I will play with them when I stay my home. Talking about dogs, it reminds me what happened last night. When I was in a nearby grocery store, I saw a black dog with the curly fur to run in there, when I raised my voice asking where to find soap, that dog suddenly appeared and stood up in front of me like a person, it looked like happy, but I was almost frightened to death!

Last night I slept very well, from ten o’clock until seven o’clock this morning. However, by noon, maybe I was too excited to take a nap as usual.

Starting today, I will begin a new agenda of life in this year of the Horse; I will go to gym to work out every day and to the library to study at least five days every week. Besides, I will carefully budget and strictly control my spending money every month, so that if my parents come to visit me in August or September, I will have enough money to entertain them and show them around. In the meantime, if I go shopping once a month instead of every week, I could save money to buy more presents for my parents. As the only child in the family, I believe this is the time for me to show how gratitude for their never ending care and love.

Let me briefly describe what I did today at work. In the morning, I made the rounds of production lines, reviewed all defect samples that my QC girl’s had identified in the recent days, and tallied XX product yield from Feb 1 to 12. To deal with the top problem regarding the troublesome XX product, I advised all involved departments to implement the newly developed XX process improvement plan. To my twelve QC girls, ages between 18 to 25. I gave them a pat on the back for their superb performance in their inspection assignment.

Time, time, and time! Every day it takes me 90 minutes to take a bath and wash my cloths. As present, since time is more precious than money, I am seeking a ways to save more time.

And because, as you know, the traditional media is still heavily controlled by the government, social media offers an opening to let the steam out a little bit. So how are they different? First of all, most of them were born in the 80s and 90s, under the one-child policy. And because of selected abortion by families who favored boys to girls, now we have ended up with 30 million more young men than women. That could pose a potential danger to the society, but who knows; we're in a globalized world, so they can look for girlfriends from other countries. Most of them have fairly good education. The illiteracy rate in China among this generation is under one percent. In cities, 80 percent of kids go to college. But they are facing an aging China with a population above 65 years old coming up with seven-point-some percent this year, and about to be 15 percent by the year of 2030. And you know we have the tradition that younger generations support the elders financially, and taking care of them when they're sick. So it means young couples will have to support four parents who have a life expectancy of 73 years old. In urban areas, college graduates find the starting salary is about 400 U.S. dollars a month, while the average rent is above $500. So what do they do? They have to share space -- squeezed in very limited space to save money -- and they call themselves "tribe of ants." And for those who are ready to get married and buy their apartment, they figured out they have to work for 30 to 40 years to afford their first apartment. Among the 200 million migrant workers, 60 percent of them are young people. They find themselves sort of sandwiched between the urban areas and the rural areas. Most of them don't want to go back to the countryside, but they don't have the sense of belonging. They work for longer hours with less income, less social welfare. And they're more vulnerable to job losses, subject to inflation, tightening loans from banks, appreciation of the renminbi, or decline of demand from Europe or America for the products they produce. Last year, though, an appalling incident in a southern OEM manufacturing compound in China: 13 young workers in their late teens and early 20s committed suicide, just one by one like causing a contagious disease. But they died because of all different personal reasons. And it has aroused huge anger and frustration among our young generation. Sometimes people get killed, and sometimes people set themselves on fire to protest. They have sorts of ingredients that you brush on a piece of chicken or fish, and it turns it to look like beef. And then lately, people are very concerned about cooking oil, because thousands of people have been found [refining] cooking oil from restaurant slop. And the first picture showed us that a truck caging 500 homeless and kidnapped dogs for food processing was spotted and stopped on the highway with the whole country watching through microblogging. People were donating money, dog food and offering volunteer work to stop that truck. And after hours of negotiation, 500 dogs were rescued. And here also people are helping to find missing children. A father posted his son's picture onto the Internet. Happiness is not only related to personal experiences and personal values, but also, it's about the environment. People are thinking about the following questions: Are we going to sacrifice our environment further to produce higher GDP? How are we going to perform our social and political reform to keep pace with economic growth, to keep sustainability and stability? And also, how capable is the system of self-correctness to keep more people content with all sorts of friction going on at the same time? I guess these are the questions people are going to answer. Yesterday was Saturday, I need to take the examination called English title without having a rest all the day. However, it is not the reason can prevent me from do some sports. This afternoon, I will go to play table tennis with my colleagues because of the rain.
The English test had been gone, it means I will achieve one of my goals if I can pass the examination although it is easy for me. Some goals have been reached, the others need to be set up to instead of. Even though it may bring more pressure and challenges into my life, it really is a good way to take advantage of my time to learn more knowledge. If you want to stand out among people, there is no shortcut for you but hard work and study.
It is no doubt that somebody have walked out of my life for some time, just as the people who coming into my live and staying for a while.

Regarding the Pyramids’ four elements, when we apply this approach to writing or reporting, please must remember that an article’s structure only support a main idea or the “cap stone” issue, which concludes all views of lower level and groups.

First, take our company for example, since the prices of raw materials and delivery have increased and our competitors have lifted their price recently, therefore, to reflect changes in demand, our product’s price must be adjusted. In this situation, you need to report this view to your boss. So the “Cap stone” issue in this case is price.

Its second element is that any a view of other level summarizes its next layer multiple points. In the above example, adjusting prices follow costs increased and market’s changes.

Third, the view of each group must belong to same category. In the same example, costs include raw materials and delivery, about market’s changes, its category is different with costs.

Finally, the idea of each group must follow the logic sequence. For example, we first consider adjusting product price due to costs increased, not market’s change. According to the Pyramids Principle, Costs should be front of market.

By the way, if we give our leader a recommendation, please remember we must ask our boss for his ideas. And the Pyramids Four elements must be considered. Otherwise, maybe our views will be rejected by our boss.
