about minitab
I found there are many persons are using minitab or other SPC software.
These tools are similar in model setting, however Minitab is more flexible and integrated.
For example, in determing CpK, it can calculate CpK for process and product, for normal distribution,weibull, binomial and possoin distribution. You can change data type, you can calculate the risk.
More, minitab has combined DOE for test, Multivari, Control chart, run chart for process analysis and control, Time series and regression for prediction.
It's easy to copy the data and write a report, it's easy to draw a graph.
It's flexible in using database and files.

When we are using software, we should have this in mind: the software cannot decide, it is model-set. You have to make decision on what model you should use and calculate the uncertainty or risk. After all, you are the boss, not minitab or other tools.

SPSS is flexible in data hadling. However, minitab are more powerful in graph, report and easy to use. Minitab's function is displayed more appropriately. Minitab can present graph and data and graph together as you like. It is more optional.
JMP is similar to minitab in report, graph and function. the size is smaller. However its models are more fixed than minitab.
I like minitab and use it more than other tools. I was trained on minitab and JMP too.
