Job Description:
Our client, a leading producer of coated papers in North America, is launching an exciting, top-down Six Sigma deployment. They are seeking highly-motivated and results-oriented Black Belts to join their team and drive the Six Sigma initiative. The Lean Six Sigma Black Belt is responsible for leading Six Sigma teams at the paper mills. This position reports directly to the Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt and can be located at one of the following manufacturing mills: Wickliffe, Kentucky; Rumford, Maine; or Luke, Maryland. This is a great opportunity for an individual looking to progress into a strategic Master Black Belt position or desirable line position.
Responsibilities:
Lead and drive large, complex Lean Six Sigma projects to deliver significant operational improvement and financial benefit in selected manufacturing mill
Partner with Process Owners and Champions to drive results
Act as a technical expert, coach and train Green Belts and team members
Act as change agent to instill Lean Six Sigma culture throughout the organization
Monitor performance and improvements in key metrics
Skills/Competencies Required:
Only those meeting these minimum qualifications will be considered.
High volume, continuous process flow experience
Experience in energy, chemical or materials processing industries preferred
5 years of business/operations experience with 2+ years of direct experience as a Black Belt
Completed 3 manufacturing-related projects with demonstrated success and financial results
Technical competency in Lean Six Sigma skills: DMAIC, Lean, Kaizen/Work-out and change management
Strong leadership skills with proven ability to facilitate cross-functional teams
Ability to influence peers and higher level managers
Ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external customers
Demonstrated ability to effectively coach and train Green Belts and project teams
Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and facilitation skills
Proficiency in Windows, Minitab, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and simulation software
DFSS experience preferred
Union experience preferred
Education:
Bachelor degree
Formal Lean and Six Sigma training
Black Belt certification
