Below is interview history during this month,
Feb-03, received headhunter's message
Feb-04, sent updated CV to headhunter
Feb-10, 1st interview by Factory mgr and VP of Corp., USA. Explained my
experience in my current co. and former co., and they asked some simple
questions, like how to manage one project and how to control process, how to
perform QS 9000 and how to increase capacity…They are interested in capacity
plan and resources arrangement, so I showed some examples.
About 2 hours, 1.5 hours in English and 0.5hour in Putonghua.
(I think I can pass this interview because I have good concept on those items.
More they are professional engineers, we are have same ideas on some cases.)
Feb-13, 2nd interview by VP of A/P, and some testing by VP of Corp.. Also the
VP only asked some basic management skills and communication skills. Asked me
how to solve the confliction within my team and others team building skills.
Total duration is about 1-1.5 hour, 3/4 in English, 1/4 in Putonghua.
Then VP of Corp, gave me one question sheet, total about 13items. He explained
that it is very simple and used in many companies around USA to know the
candidate’s characters.

Finally, had a dinner with VP of Corp. and Factory mgr after finish testing.
Before dinner we had one short meeting about salary and allowance. And we
decided to have one meeting on Feb-17
Feb-14, Factory mgr called me that they pay 1K allowance except for 9K base
salary. I felt better.
Feb-17, we talked about the future and the current status of the plant and O/C,
biz plan, turnoer and sales history, insurance/double pay/tax and Hukou,
commuter car, training…. The final salary is 9K + 1.5K allowance.
I accept this position. Will join in that plant next month.

Feb-18, when I turn in the resign application, my manager recommend one company for me.
At Chegongmiao, Futian. By the way, my mgr always declares I am the best leader
in this co..
Feb-20, my mgr told me some info about 2nd co. and 2nd co. sent job description to my mgr.
Feb-23, recevied J/D and contact their Director of China Engineer & Chief Representative via e-mail
Feb-25, visit their 2nd co and talked with their Director of Chia engineering and Chief
Representative, one American person, friend of my mgr. This comapny focus on
house application exporting to USA, yearly output is about USD 200M. There is
only one engineer in his office now. They plan to hire about 6 mechanical
engineer this year to manage 200 projects every year. And will have 10-20
engineers in this office before 2006.
But they can offer Sr. Project engineer for me since I am not good at house
application, about 9.5K/month before tax, no special allowance per their rule.
That director and my mgr told me there are good futures in this company since
there is only 1 engineer here.
But the salary for Project mgr is only 12K (max) per their rule. Shit!
Where should I go to, Longhua or Futian?
