Nodularity Check
1) Preparation of nodularity sample is very poor and difficlt to read the nodularity.
Sample size to be increased or define Standard size of samples and it should be taken at last pour of mould per every treatment.
2) Spectro samples are taken only random laddles to check chemistry & Mg% (6treated laddles are poured per each 6ton of furnace metal), Recommend to take it at last pour of mould per every treatment to ensure Mg%.
Traceability of Nodularity
1) There is no visual identification mark or flag system on mold line for each treated batch and very less possibilities to separate a batch with low nodularity.
2) No Quarantine/rejection area at cooling or knock-out area to separte if any batch with low nodularity.
Hardness measurement
1) No practice to measure hardness on few of QT parts , generally hardness to be measured on all production parts with defined frequency .
2) No calibration of Hardness equipment by using master sample, Evidenced referance value of Master sample is 217BHN, but calibration value of machine is 206BHN - equipment to be re-calibrated.
