Let him go or stay

2 months ago, my company business is busy, I need add a QC. I hired a boy he is only 18 years old. At that time three people came to compete this job, he is youngest of three, I felt his thought is mature and have big potential. So at the end I choose him.

Some time I observe him work, I find out he isn’t positive. He is a kind of what you touch him, he just jump. If you order him to do something he will done. But he didn’t assure the result. He is never initiative. One times my colleague told me “ The QC job is very comfort ,we can sleep at work” I ask him why say so , I know he was asleep at his post.

I had conversation with him twice. I ask him some questions, like that what difficult at him job or How can help him in him job. But he didn’t say some useful information. I summed up his work and told him what he need change. But I didn’t see he changed. In my company Probation period is three months, I hesitate let him go or stay.

Two months ago, I needed to add a QC. I hired a "boy" to do a man's work ..., because he didn't ask much for compensation.

Song: a suggestion: please pay attention that you should say "he was ..." not "he is ...", because it happened three months ago not now. Even at an hour ago, you should say "he was ..." Agree?
